The Men's Soccer Club is both a student organization and a sport club here at University of South Florida and is partially funded by the SCC (Sport Clubs Council) through the department of Recreation. We play at the highest college club level available. The team consists of numerous players who have been in the Olympic Development Program and who have played division one at USF or other schools in the past. Unlike NCAA teams elegibility, we are also allowed to carry ex-professional players on our roster.

We compete in the NIRSA Region II against other SEC and ACC soccer club teams such as Florida, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Clemson, etc. The season starts within the first couple weeks of the fall semester and continues through November. The Regional Tournament is held around the end of October and the National Tournament is held just before Thanksgiving.

The team is comprised of the top 23 players. The coach is the final decision maker in the composition of the team. The top 23 make up the USF home game squad, while the top 18 make up the traveling squad. Depending on the quality of tryouts, there may be 5-10 reserve players who can earn their spot on the team by proving so in practice. This means that a player in the top 23 can be moved to the reserves, if the reserve player is performing better. This is meant to keep everyone on top of their game and to keep everyone's work ethic where it should be.

Practices are held two to three times a week for around two hours, and one to two games are played during the weekend. Traveling is usually done at least four times during the season. Dedication is a key factor and it all pays off when you are in the national finals. There is only one thing better than being in the national final, and thats winning it. Our goal is to be the best college club soccer team in the nation.
